In collaboration with the talented visual artist, Erin Schantz-Hilton, Annalee 

is offering a live virtual workshop in Art and Words, an immersive class experience to tap into our innate creative selves. 

​

This ongoing series aims to inspire a practice of spontaneous creativity within a theme of seasonal inner shifts. The co-teachers bring decades of combined experience in visual art, writing, teaching, and interdisciplinary studies into a vibrant workshop brewed from years of an active relationship with the arts.

 

This is a series with a golden thread that runs through these offerings, but each workshop can be taken independently.

Autumn’s Workshop coincides with the Equinox and turning inward, imagining our spaces differently, and our focus turns to NESTING. Together we will create a version of our own “nests” with a simple list of gathered items. Participants will be guided in writing prompts & new artistic techniques to build our nests from the physical to the visionary.

This continues our fluid concept of "self portrait". With deep breaths & pauses between creative marks, we invite our muses to awaken and work with us. 

 

This class is for creatives of ANY level and skill.  Beginners who claim they "aren't artistic" are especially encouraged to attend!

Your SUPPLIES LIST is simple: 

Thick card stock, poster board or thick watercolor paper.
Extra paper for drawings and writing prompts.
Newspaper, tissue paper or paper bags.
Elmers glue or Modge Podge.

Flour.

Optional food coloring

Paint brushes.

Paint (wall paint or acrylic paint or watercolor)
Pens, pencils, any other art supplies you have around the house.
Nesting materials, such as dried grasses and leaves, flowers, bark, sticks, feathers, dirt, sand, seeds, pebbles, etc.

The piece you create carries forward in your days as a work of active art that may continue to build its layers into the future. Erin and Annalee host a supportive community who speak the same language of "living through art".
